Webcast
Objective:
To keep retirement plan sponsors (employers)
and third party consultants up to date on the latest
regulations and legislation in Washington so that they
can meet their fiduciary obligations.
From the Nominator:
In
this webcast a panel of Fidelity compliance professionals
held an interactive discussion
of issues around the latest regulatory and legislative
news from Washington. They also reviewed issues and rules
concerning the mutual fund industry, executive compensation,
and medical savings accounts and discussed other compliance
topics that impact employee benefit plans. Audience members
had the opportunity to submit questions to the panel,
which appeared live via video in a news anchor format.
"Fidelity's
clients from around the country - in the comfort
and convenience of their offices - were electronically
linked to the panelists in an interactive, online
format that has made this webcast series so successful.
These topics tend to be fairly dry for non-plan sponsor
audiences, however this
constituency relies on Fidelity to get them information
as close to real-time as possible. If not, they are
at risk for non-compliance in managing what amounts
to millions of dollars of their employees' retirement
savings. Before technology allowed this medium, we
communicated this information in a quarterly newsletter.
Our plan sponsors appreciate this just-in-time education
as indicated by the results of our post-webcast surveys.
