About
the Award Winning Entry:
This
interactive whiteboard activity illustrates
concepts of time management, and helps participants
reassess
their own priorities. Learners
were shown images of children's
pick-up
sticks on the whiteboard. They were instructed
to use whiteboard tools to
click
on as
many sticks as possible in a few seconds
time,
and were
then
asked
to give a count of how many sticks they "picked
up", and in what colors. They were then
asked to repeat the activity but were told
that the blue sticks had the most value;
the green sticks, the least. After the second
round they reported that they concentrated
on picking up the blue sticks while staying
away from sticks that had no value. Participants
immediately saw the connection between real
life and this activity: that without identifying
priorities/worth, we spend all our time picking
up all the sticks in our paths. |
